On 15 May 2026, the Hopeland solar and BESS project was approved by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) under Federal Environmental Protection and Biodiversity (EPBC) guidelines.
Our team will meet the conditions of approval during the course of the project's construction and operation. Careful vegetation removal on some parts of the site will be guided by environmental planning and approval requirements. More than 224ha of the total 452ha will be preserved.
There is an opportunity for certain agricultural activities (sheep grazing) to continue in conjunction with the operation of the solar farm (known as ‘agrisolar’ or ‘agrivoltaics’).
